Cynthia Ruth Martinez, age 69 of Ringwood, Il, passed away on November 21, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 2, 1952, in Newton, Massachusetts to William and Eleanor (Eaton) McCollister. She married the love of her life, David Martinez on July 17, 1982, in Downers Grove, IL. Cynthia had many passions. Among them, her faith in God, pervaded all. Her greatest achievement was her family and her grandchildren. When she wasn't spending time with her family or enjoying social game nights with her friends, she was enjoying her passions of drawing/art. She loved photography and most often took pictures of local birds and sites. She loved drawing and taking photographs of things around her, including her pets. She found great joy in her family and her fur family. She will be greatly missed by all and remembered as a kind soul who would help or talk to anyone. Cynthia is survived by her husband of 39 years, David, her children; Adrienne (William), Alyssa (Daniel) ,Salvatore and grandchildren; Isaac, Joshua and Eleanor. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eleanor (Eaton) McCollister. Visitation will be held at the Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 5-8 pm. Funeral service will be at 10 am on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the funeral home.
