James E. "Jim" Anderson

<p>James E. &ldquo;Jim&rdquo; Anderson, 75 of Litchfield, IL, passed away, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 8:10 A.M. at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.</p> <p>He was born on May 30, 1946 in Springfield, IL a son of the late Samuel &amp; Louise (Dorris) Anderson.</p> <p>Jim married the former Lou Ellen Werries on November 22, 1997 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives.</p> <p>He attended Glenwood High School with the class of 1964.</p> <p>Jim grew up in the Chatham area and moved to Litchfield in his early 20s. With the help of his father, they purchased farm land in North Litchfield, and Jim began his career as a lifelong farmer. He farmed until 2019. He was also involved in machinery sales and consignment auctions</p> <p>Mr. Anderson was a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and the Illinois Auctioneer Association.</p> <p>Jim never met a stranger and was always quick to strike up a conversation and make friends with everyone. He loved life and enjoyed NASCAR and drag races on Sunday. He also liked to attend tractor pulls and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Fan. Jim and Lou Ellen also held season passes to attend musicals at the Fox Theatre.</p> <p>Along with his wife, Lou Ellen, he is survived by his</p> <p>Step-daughter, Annette (James) Weindel of Arnold, MO</p> <p>Step-son,&nbsp;William (Erin) Werries III of Webster Groves, MO</p> <p>Step-grandchildren, Nick &amp; Jack Weindel &amp; Liam &amp; Lucas Werries</p> <p>Sister, Beverly Carder of Naples, FL</p> <p>Several nieces and nephews</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents, &amp; sisters, Gladys Hopping &amp; Mildred Ellis.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 12:00 NOON at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Pastor, Jon Magnuson, minster of Beacon Church in Litchfield will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow. The family suggests monetary donations be directed to the St. Francis Hospital Foundation or Hearts United. Both in Litchfield.</p> <p>Per the family&rsquo;s strong recommendations, CDC guidelines will be followed and face coverings will be required.</p>

He was born on May 30, 1946 in Springfield, IL a son of the late Samuel & Louise (Dorris) Anderson.

Jim married the former Lou Ellen Werries on November 22, 1997 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 12:00 NOON at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield, IL. Pastor, Jon Magnuson, minster of Beacon Church in Litchfield will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow. The family suggests monetary donations be directed to the St. Francis Hospital Foundation or Hearts United. Both in Litchfield.

Per the family’s strong recommendations, CDC guidelines will be followed and face coverings will be required.
