Peacefully at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 the death occurred of Robert “Bob” Edwin Vokey of Mermaid, age 75 years. Beloved husband of Joyce Albina (Peters). Loving father of Kimberley (Virginia) and Kevin (Jody). Cherished grandfather of Alex, Brandon and Paige. Brother of Graham (Frances), Howard (Lois) and Janet (Jerry, deceased). Bob will be missed by his in-laws Ruth MacGregor (Walter), Myrna Reeves (Ed), Doris Diamond and Patty Peters. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rachel (Smith) Vokey, parents-in-law Leonard and Mary Peters. Bob had many passions in life including singing and playing the guitar. He especially enjoyed golfing in the summer and woodworking in the winter, during which time he built over 20 model ships. He was lucky enough to have holed 5 aces. His granddaughter Paige was his pride and joy and he loved and adored her. Bob converted from his love of hockey to a love of ringette, and tried to get to as many of Paige's games as possible. He was very proud of her accomplishments, both on and off the ice. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Due to current restrictions, a public visitation (Vax Pass and photo id required) will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 5-8 pm. A private funeral service (by invitation only) will be held.
