Demarius Barrett

Demarius (Stewart) Barrett, 91, of Moon Township since 2008, formerly of North Side of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Kane Community Living Center.  She was born in Whistler, AL on April 22, 1930, to the late Eugene Francis and Rose Anna (Gaston) Stewart.  In addition to her Parents, Demarius was preceded in death by her two spouses Ernest Hamilton, Sr and Henry Barrett. Demarius is survived by her two cherished sons Edward B. Hamilton (Karen) of Moon Township and Ernest G. Hamilton II (Janet) of Baton Rouge, LA; 5 loving grandchildren E. Alyx Hamilton (Jamie), Ernest Gene Hamilton III (Diamille), Kalen Hamilton (Jameelah), Jason Hamilton (Ashley) and Demarius L. Hamilton.  Her family legacy includes 12 great grandchildren; Shawntia, Dorian, Anthony, Kandra, Kiera, London, Ava, Ethan, Kathryn, Madison, A'niya and Journei.
Demarius last worked for a company that provided janitorial services for office buildings; she took pride in her cleaning skills for her clients and was an industrious worker all of her life.  Demarius always spoke her mind and was known for "telling it like it is".  She was Christian.  A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 11 AM at Copeland's Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Road.  In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name to Southern Poverty Law Center.
