Dylan Patrick Gilbert
Dylan Patrick Gilbert, 19, passed away on November 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family and his dog Mocha after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 11, 2001 in Chambersburg, Dylan was the son of Ronald and Wendy Hoover Gilbert and the grandson of Willis and Joyce (Shriver) Hoover. In addition he is survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his girlfriend Alyssa Hollowell. His grandparents, Henry C. and Mary Menter Gilbert preceded him in death. Dylan graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 2020 where he was a member of the JROTC and Boy Scout Troop 138. He was employed at Sunnyway in Chambersburg where he always had a bright smile, teasing personality, and was willing to help everyone. He enjoyed getting together with his friends, having bonfires, and his vacations to Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge. The family would like to extend a personal thank you to the staff at Penn State Hershey Medical Center Children’s Cancer Institute, friends, and family. A memorial service will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Greenvillage Church of God, 5164 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA.
