Wendell Van Hayes, 65, of Thorsby, Alabama passed away November 22, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. He was born June 6, 1956 in Clanton, Alabama, son of the late Earl Hayes and the late Vernell Franklin Hayes. He was a Locomotive Engineer with CSX Transportation. He loved to travel, especially on his motorcycle, he was a devoted family man and dedicated to his church. Surviving are his Wife, Vickie Honeycutt Hayes; Daughter, Jennifer Hayes (Jeremy) Noah; Granddaughter, Reese Caroline Noah; Sister, Patricia Lane Rush; Nieces, Amy Hayes (Warwick) Naylor, Julie Hayes (Aaron) Overby and Jamie Marie Hayes; Nephew, Jason Rush; and a host of Great Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Earl Hayes; Mother, Vernell Franklin Hayes; Brother, Randall Earl Hayes; Niece, Kaci Rush. Friends will be received Friday, November 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 26, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery.
