William John Theisen, Esq. Obituary

William John Theisen, Esq., age 39, died in a bicycle/vehicle accident in Pittsburgh on Saturday, November 20, 2021.  He was born in State College, Pa on November 2, 1982.  He is the son of Babs and Chris Rajecki of McKean Pa. and Jack and Cheryl Theisen of Brookville Pa.

Will was a unique individual and always marched to the beat of his own drum. After graduating from McDowell High School in Erie, Pa. he ventured off to Southern California where he lived for 14 years, mostly in Venice Beach.  After successful careers in the cycling industry, and as a journalist for LA Times, OC Register and other publications, he came to a turning point in his life when he realized he wanted to pursue a career in law.  After completing his undergrad in Journalism at Cal State Long Beach, he returned to Pennsylvania where he earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh.  He was a practicing attorney with Worgul, Sarna and Ness.

Will had many mixed interests that included, but were not limited to, volunteering as an English tutor for Literacy Pittsburgh, cycling (both road and mountain), listening to and having appreciation for nearly any music genre you could think of, attending concerts (metal, if given a preference), and retaining any number of facts that might be presented as a question on Jeopardy.  Will was, simply put, an inherently good person to everyone he crossed paths with.  He was never short of a kind word, always rooting for the underdog and making an effort to give a voice to anyone he shared a room with.  It was of utmost importance to Will that whatever the group was doing as a collective, it was enjoyed by all.  His motto was, “Life is a journey, enjoy the ride”.

Will was preceded in death by his grandparents Lynn Theisen, Jack Shriver, and Frank Rajecki.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jessie (Sinatra) Theisen of Pittsburgh; her parents, Jack and Nina Sinatra of Sanford, NC; grandparents Barbara Shriver of Brookville, Dave and Molly Stickley of Scottdale Pa., and Rita Rajecki of McKean.  He is additionally survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his best 4-legged pup (named Trouble) to cherish his memory.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie St., Edinboro on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 9 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.
