BAXTER-Funeral services for Robert Earl "Kenneth" Maxwell, 93 of Cookeville, will be Friday, December 10, 10 AM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bro. T.J. Bennett officiating. Private family interment with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Samuel Maxwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Maxwell died Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He was born in Baxter May 9, 1928 to the late William Robert and Phoebe Neal Maxwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Betty June Bean Maxwell on June 6, 2021, sisters Lela Ruth Maxwell and Alda Kathleen Pippin, brothers Oron, Coron, Hillard, Willard, Lindon, Alvin, Everett, Dallas, Arnold and Harry Maxwell, (he was the last of his 12 brothers and sisters), great-grandchild Riley Paige Maxwell. He was a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a Mason since 1952 with Laurel Masonic Lodge in Detroit and Cookeville Masonic Lodge #266 and member of Baxter United Methodist Church. Robert retired in 1983 as support superintendent with the US Postal Service in Warren , Michigan with over 31 years of service. In retirement, Robert was an avid golfer and maintained a huge garden full of flowers and vegetables. Survivors include sons Gary (Barbara) Maxwell of Destin, FL, Alan (Elizabeth) Maxwell of Michigan, Lary Maxwell of Bolingbrook, IL, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be AJ Maxwell, Melvin Maxwell, Thomas Maxwell, Alan Maxwell, Lary Maxwell and Gary Maxwell Memorial Donations may be made to the Samuel Maxwell Cemetery Association, c/o Harold Brown, treasurer, 1069 Elmore Town Rd., Baxter, TN 38544.
