It is with great sadness that the Ju Family announces the passing of their beloved Chowsoon Ju.

Chowsoon Ju, of Princeton, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021. We pray to God for her departed soul to rest in eternal peace and give strength to the family members to bear the loss of their beloved Chowsoon.

In 1946 our mother Chowsoon Chuang graduated from the law school of Xiamen (Amoy) University in China and migrated to the Philippines. She took on a teaching post at Manila’s Chiang Kai Shek High School. In 1968, she obtained her master’s in political science at the University of Santo Tomas. In the same year, she and our father, I-Hsiung Ju, with four daughters, immigrated to the United States of America. Together in Virginia, they established the Art Farm to promote Chinese culture and art. She managed the Art Farm while our father taught at Washington & Lee University. Our mother was a writer; her pen name was Hsin Jen. She published 4 collections of essays. Her four children are Doris Ju, Helen Ju, Jane Ju (husband: Weijan Chi, daughter: Chienyn Chi), Grace Ju (husband: Garth Miller, daughter: Zea Miller, son-in-law: Seth Shipman, son: Noah Miller). Our mother’s body was cremated November 24, 2021; the date of the burial is yet to be determined (spring of 2022 is our estimate). Her ashes will be placed with our father’s ashes at the Kingston cemetery, in New Jersey.

莊昭順女士，98歲，於2021年11月21日在紐澤西州普林斯頓市家中辭世。她於1946年自國立廈門大學法律系畢業後便移居菲律賓，於馬尼拉中正大學任教，並於1968年自聖多瑪大學獲得政治碩士學位。同年，莊女士與夫君朱一雄移民美國，共同創立「藝苑」，致力推廣中國文化與藝術。同時，莊女士是作家，以「莘人」為筆名，先後出版四部散文集。她留下的直屬親人有朱多麗、朱希玲、朱靜華（夫紀蔚然、女紀芊吟）、朱雅施（夫Garth Miller、女Zea Miller、兒Noah Miller）。
