Dorma L. Brooks, 70, of Arkansas City passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Kansas Medical Center of Andover.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 26, 2021 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Arkansas City. Visitation will be held from 9-11 AM prior to the service Friday at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.

Dorma was born September 23, 1951 to Marion (Pete) and Arthenia (McMains) Wells. She grew up in Arkansas City, where she attended public schools graduating in 1969. On March 25, 1970 Dorma and Larry J. Brooks were united in marriage. Dorma was employed at Wal-Mart for 15 years, retiring in October 2013.

Dorma is survived by her two sons Bryon Brooks and wife Jannette of Blackwell, OK, and Michael Brooks, and wife Elizabeth of Arkansas City; brother Wes Wells of Arkansas City, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Dorma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, a son Randy Brooks, a daughter Connie Short and brother Charles Wells.
