<p>Charles &ldquo;Charlie&rdquo; Jaeger of Colorado, formerly of Geddes, SD passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 with loved ones by his side at the age of 92 in Colorado. Funeral Services were 10:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Basalt, CO. A Committal Service with Fr. Thomas Clement officiating and Military Honors will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at St. Ann&#39;s Catholic Cemetery in Geddes. Mount Funeral Home of Platte, SD is assisting with arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family through mountfuneralhome.com.&nbsp;The service may be viewed under &quot;Photos and Videos&quot; on the funeral home website (Webcasting) and through &ldquo;Mount Funeral Homes&rdquo; Facebook page.</p><p>Charles &ldquo;Charlie&rdquo; Jaeger was born on June 3rd in a farmhouse West of Geddes, SD in the summer of 1929 to Frank and Frances (Meis) Jaeger. He was the seventh child of nine children and spent his childhood to young adult life on the family farm in Geddes.</p><p>In 1951 he joined the United States Air Force and served for four years at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD, retiring from the Air Force in 1955.</p><p>In May of 1952 he married Darleen Varuska in Geddes. Together they had five children: Michelle, Jeffery, Denise, Cynthia and Leslie.</p><p>In 1965 Charlie and his family moved to the Roaring Fork Valley region of Colorado to work on the Fryingpan-Arkansas River Project. Charlie built a career in construction and continued to work in the industry until he retired at the age of 85.</p><p>Charlie had a passion for gardening, spending most of his free time in the garden or yard tending to his vegetables and flowers.</p><p>Grateful for having shared in Charlie&rsquo;s life: his wife of over 69 years, Darleen Jaeger; three children: Denise (John) Rupinski, Cynthia (Timothy) Donohoue and Leslie (George) Strong; six grandchildren: Chris Rupinski, Jordan and Nick Donohoue and Austin, Ashley and Tanner Strong; two siblings; along with many nieces and nephews.</p><p>Charlie was preceded in death by, his children: Michelle and Jeffery; his parents, Frank and Frances; and six siblings.</p>
