Florence Bass

Florence R. Bass, age 97, arrived in her heavenly home November 19, 2021 at 4:12 pm at the Birchaven Village in Findlay.

Florence was born March 24, 1924 in Gilboa, Ohio to Harry and Ida (Huffman) Tussing. Florence married Arthur Moore on February 20, 1943. He died October 21, 1946. She married Horace Bass on October 9, 1948 and he died on December 10, 2004. Florence is survived by son Duane (Caroline) Moore of McComb, daughters: Charlotte Marquart of Findlay, Sherrill (Tom) Siferd of Piqua, Dawn (Randy) Williams of Van Buren, daughter-in-law Edith Bass and sister-in-law Connie Tussing, 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 7 step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Donald Bass, son-in-law Ross Marquart, brothers Glenn and Maurice Tussing, sisters Dorothy and Cleda Tussing, Naomi Luce and Lorena McDowell.  

Florence was an LPN at Holt Nursing Home in McComb and then Putnam Acres in Ottawa until her retirement. She enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, sewing, cooking, doing puzzles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation for Florence will be held at the Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Drive S., McComb, Ohio on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 9:00 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 1:00 pm with Jacob Huber officiating.

Memorial contributions in Florence’s honor may be made to Bridge Hospice.
