Tony Dye

Tony Lavelle Dye, 49, passed away at Sanctuary Hospice House on Thursday, November 18, 2021. Born November 26, 1971, in Houston, MS, he is the son of Wanda Lou Dye and the late Willie Ray Dye. Tony graduated from Calhoun City High School, and was employed as an Adjuster at Winchester in Oxford. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Tony loved being outdoors, especially down at Grenada Lake. He was always sitting on ready, whether it be skiing, boating, or riding the side-by-side. He also enjoyed tinkering with old cars, and fixing them up to sell. He was a friendly and fun loving person, and had a countless number of friends and family who will cherish his memory forever. Pryor Funeral Home is honored to serve the Dye family. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 3:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Rev. Joey Faulk will be officiating, with interment to follow. Pallbearers will be Joey Cotton, David Cotton, William Hamilton, Chris Higginbotham, Michael Plunk, and Tim Cardwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bubba Dye, Dwight Boettcher, Glen Dye, Bodie Dye, Billy Hollowell, Darryl Danforth, Mark Zizmann, Jimmy Edwards, Chris Terry, Joey Kimbrough, Brandon Edwards, and Kerry Edwards. He leaves behind his mother, Wanda Lou Dye; special friend, Cheryl Martin; half-brother, Bubba Dye and wife Misty of Calhoun City; Aunts, Sue Skelton and Diane Edwards and husband Jimmy both of Shannon, MS; Uncles, Glen Dye and wife Martha of Batesville, MS, Kenneth Dye and wife Teresa of Bruce, Bodie Dye and wife Teresa of Grenada; and Dwight Boettcher of Calhoun City; cousins, Mark Zizmann and wife Tori of Hernando; Brandon Edwards and wife Tiffany of Saltillo; and Kerry Edwards of Shannon, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to American Cancer Society. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, U.V. Melton Dye and Glen Dye and Harry and Lavera Boethcher; father, Willie Ray Dye; Aunt, Lucille Carter, and cousin, Micheal Zizmann and Max Zizmann.
