THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF BARBARA A. O'DONNELL “The Smiling Receptionist” WATERBURY – Ms. Barbara Ann O’Donnell age 70 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 16, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Barbara was born on February 2, 1951 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Thomas and Hannah (Foley) O’Donnell. She graduated from Wilby High school. She held long time positions at Timex then turned Bendix. She then sat on the front desk in the medical office of Dr. J. Brenes and M. Raad for many years. She was the glue that held all things together but most especially was that smiling face that greeted one and all. There she made many friends and made so many coming to the doctors office feel welcomed and calm. The only thing more important to Barbara in her life other than her job was her family. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her son, James O’Donnell of Waterbury, her grandchildren; Kya, Cooper and Olivia O’Donnell, her beloved sisters; Maureen Gallo and her husband Joseph, of Cheshire and Kathleen O’Donnell, and her brother Thomas. She was predeceased by her brother John, who is survived by his wife Barbara’s sister-in-law Maria O’Donnell and beloved nieces and nephews namely Michael and Zachary Gallo and Thomas, Shaun and Hannah O’Donnell. Relatives and friends may visit with Barbara’s family on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. A funeral service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m.Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. We continue to remain concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether you are vaccinated or not.
