Mary M. Woodruff, 73, Weston, died peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Rennes Health and Rehab, following a seven year battle with cancer. She was born March 10, 1943 in Minocqua, the daughter of Gilbert and Ruth (Reed) Mentz. Mary grew up in the area and attended Lakeland Union High School, where she graduated in 1961. On February 24, 1962, she married John L. Duranso, he preceded her in death on June 28, 1987. On August 15, 1989, she married Kerry Woodruff. He survives. Among her favorite pastimes, Mary enjoyed trap shooting, traveling with her family, casino trips and scrapbooking. Survivors include, her husband, Kerry; her mother, Ruth Mentz; four children, Jeff (Lori) Duranso, Jackie (Steve) Landwehr, Tony (Dawn) Woodruff and Carla (Joe) Lynn; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Brad Landwehr, Lisa and John Duranso; one great-grandson, Ashton; one aunt, Arlene Reed; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Mentz. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home. Mary Memorial donations may be directed to Mary's family to be distributed to Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital for the support of local cancer patients.
