HALIFAX - Francis Leroy Holberg, age 88, of Armstrong Street, died November 12, 2021, at his residence He was born on March 14, 1933 in Littlefield, TX the son of [the late] Arthur Holberg and Julia Yesel. After a long hard-working career, he retired as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was a Shriner and Masonic Member. Francis enjoyed tinkering, woodworking and watching football, especially Penn State and the Philadelphia Eagles. He is survived by two sons, Richard (Cathy) Holberg of York and Sean (Nicole) Holberg of Mechanicsburg. He has two grandchildren, Erin Holberg of California and Zachary Holberg of Mechanicsburg. Also, nephew Danny Holberg and niece Judy Griffith, both from Texas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Arthur and Floyd as well as his life companion of 30+ years, Linda Atkins of York. There will be a viewing held at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Ltd, Millersburg, on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10-11 AM. Services will start at 11 AM officiated by Rev. Jeff Wagner. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Francis's name may be made to: Shriners Hospitals for Children,2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, Florida 33607 Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., a Minnich Funeral location is handling the arrangements.
