Funeral services for Paul Soderberg, 89, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds in Lusk.  Paul passed away in Lusk, Wy Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021.

Paul Eugene Soderberg was born June 20, 1932, to John and Wilhemina (Ek) Soderberg.   Paul was the youngest of eleven children.

He grew up on the family ranch west of Fort Collins, Colorado.   Paul was in the US Army during the Korean War.  He returned to the ranch after the war.  He and his brothers also had a sawmill and cut Christmas trees on the side.

On March 15, 1961, he married Loretta JoAnne Wisseman and they had one son, Chris.

Later in life he started a construction company specializing in mountain roads, dams and subdivisions.  He continued the construction company for many years and was an accomplished heavy machinery operator.

The Soderberg Brothers moved the ranching operation to Jay Em, WY in the late 70s and phased out the Construction Company.  They ranched south of Lusk until the early 2000s when the place was sold, and he and Loretta moved North of Lusk.  He graded many ranch roads and built many branding irons for neighboring ranches until his final days.  He was always tinkering in the shop and was nicknamed Wiley for his inventions.  He was friends with many people wherever he went.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, ten siblings, and his wife Loretta in 2010.  He is survived by his son Chris (Sara) Soderberg of Lusk, grandson Billy Soderberg of Newcastle, and many nieces, nephews, other special relatives, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Niobrara Senior Citizens Center or the Stagecoach Museum would be appreciated by the family.
