Joseph Irving Scanlan

Joseph Irving “Jay” Scanlan, Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was 96. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Neville Scanlan and five children, Kathy Falone (Danny), Barbara Roth (Randy), Peggy Walton (Mark), Jay Scanlan, Jr. and Tommy Scanlan (Jennifer). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, one brother Claude Scanlan (Ann), sister-in-law Edna Scanlan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Frances Scanlan, brothers Edward Scanlan, Jr. (Florence), John Scanlan, David Scanlan (Claudine), and Reggie Scanlan; sisters Frances Wagnon (Reynolds), Helen Daspit (Larry), Ivy Whitty, Shirley Taylor (Fant) and Mary Lynn Rau (Eddie). He loved God, his Catholic faith, his family and his country. We extend our deepest gratitude to his loving and compassionate nurse Jackie Kyzar and caregivers Lou August, Angelica Foster, Margine Gaddis, Julisa Manuel, Agnes Sterling and Vanessa Sterling.
