Carroll Beaton MacDougall

Surrounded by his loving family, Carroll Beaton MacDougall of Antigonish passed away peacefully on November 14, 2021. Carroll was born in Antigonish on July 1, 1939, the youngest son of the late John A. and Anne Cecilia (MacDonald) MacDougall. Carroll is survived by his loving and caring wife of 62 years, Agatha (Kelly), his daughter Carolyn (Alan), sons Michael (Pauline) and Greg (Carol Ann); grandchildren Tiernan, Niamh, Riona, Megan and Stephan. Carroll is also survived by his siblings Frances, Jean, Jackie, Colin and Anne. He is predeceased by siblings Ruth, Chris, Della, Billy, Dougald and Florence. Carroll devoted his entire working career to the Town of Antigonish, therefore, was a very strongly regarded and very well recognized member of his community. Carroll loved sports, from track and field in his early years, to his many years of bowling and golf. Another passion through Carroll's life was singing. At a young age, Carroll was a member of the Marian Boy Choir, followed by many years with the St. Ninian Cathedral Choir. Carroll graciously shared his voice at many community celebrations over the years. He will be remembered and sorely missed by many. There will be no visitation. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, November 18 at 11 am in St. Ninian Cathedral. Burial in the parish cemetery. Current Covid-19 protocols of proof of vaccination will be in place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home would be appreciated. Carroll's family wish to thank the entire staff of Martha's Place for their professional and compassionate care for Carroll during his time at the R.K. A sincere thank you, as well, to Dr. Martin Eckhart. www.MacIsaacs.ca
