William J. "Bill" "Wahoo" Kendrach

<p>William J. &ldquo;Bill&rdquo; &ldquo;Wahoo&rdquo; Kendrach, 84, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday November 13, 2021, with his family by his side at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.</p> <p>He was born October 6, 1937 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Mike and Gertrude &ldquo;Geri&rdquo; (Barker) Kendrach.</p> <p>Bill worked at the former Satralloy in Mingo and retired from International Mill Service Mingo Junction Plant in 1998. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Bill was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Mingo. He was also a member of the Greek Catholic Union. In years past he enjoyed boating on the Ohio River with family and friends. Wahoo was an avid car enthusiast, handyman, and enjoyed tinkering in the garage. He looked forward to having his morning coffee with his friends in downtown Mingo, socializing with his neighbors, feeding the stray cats and most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Margaret &ldquo;Marge&rdquo; (Bodnar) Kendrach, whom he married July 11, 1959; six children, Carla (Mark) Gasser of Wintersville, OH, William Kendrach of Mingo Junction, OH, Joanne Kendrach of Cornelius, NC, Cindy (Matt) Pitroff of South Beach, FL, Mike (Angie) Kendrach of Birmingham, AL, and John (Paula) Kendrach of Mooresville, NC; three siblings, Gertrude (Larry) Hall of Coudersport, PA, Paula (V. Rev. John) Kopcha of Mingo Junction, OH, and Bob Kendrach of Cincinnati, OH; and four grandchildren, Sara Gasser, Josh (Alyssa) Kendrach, Jacob (Traci) Gasser and Kash Kendrach.</p> <p>Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and also on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. On Saturday a Requiem Divine Liturgy will be held at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Father John Kapitan, Jr. O.F.M. as celebrant and V. Rev. John Kopcha, co-celebrant. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction, with military honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad. William J. “Bill” “Wahoo” Kendrach, 84, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday November 13, 2021, with his family by his side at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.

He was born October 6, 1937 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Mike and Gertrude “Geri” (Barker) Kendrach.
