Jon Kurt Kerl Jon Kurt Kerl, 77, went to be with the lord on November 12, 2021. He was born on December 15, 1943, to Pastor Kurt L. Kerl and Miriam Bachman Kerl in St. Paul Minnesota. When Jon was three, his parents moved to Toledo, Ohio where his father became Pastor of St. Petri Lutheran Church. Jon was a graduate of Libbey High School and General Motors Institute (Kettering University) where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. In 1965 Jon married his high school sweetheart Judith Ann Shell. Jon worked at Power Train Transmission Plant, Bunting Brass and as a manufacturer’s representative retiring in 2004. At St. Petri Lutheran Church, Jon served as Sunday School Teacher, President of Church Council, Elder, and Trustee. Jon presently served as President of the Board of Directors of the Riverlot. Jon enjoyed golfing with his senior friends at The Toledo Country Club where he became a member in 1980. Jon was an avid woodcrafter, spending many hours in his basement shop. Besides his loving wife Judy, Jon also survived by his sister-in-law Toni, nephews John and Tom, and nieces Laurie and Christy. The family will receive relatives and friends at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd on Tuesday November 16, 2021, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will take place at St. Petri Lutheran Church 3120 South Byrne Rd Wednesday November 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St. Petri Lutheran Church.
