Virginia Katherine Moore

Virginia K. Carder, Ashcraft Moore, 94 originally from Shinnston, WV passed away on November 11, 2021 at the Fairmont Health & Rehab Center. She was born at Saltwell, to the late Earl Carder and Ruth Johnson Carder. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1954, Russell M Ashcraft. In 1975, she married Richard “Sonny” Moore of Shinnston. Virginia is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth Ashcraft Gonzalez and husband Mike Gonzalez of Clarksburg, and daughter Sandra Ashcraft Moore Green, husband Hal Green of Bridgeport. She also is survived by 5 grandchildren, Shannon Moore App husband Danny App of Mars, PA, Patrick Wayne Moore and wife Crissi of Bridgeport, Michael Gonzalez and fiancé Sherri Lily of Salem, Bryan Gonzalez and fiancé Erin Pistavec of Nutter Fort and Todd Gonzalez of Clarksburg. Three step- grandchildren, Amanda Green Schorsch and husband Aaron of Berea, KY, Nick Green and wife Tabitha of Flemington and Erik Green and wife Sarah of Grafton. Virginia loved all her 8 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granchild. She is also survived by 4 sisters, Clara Paugh of Shinnston, Caroll Greaver of Saltwell, Louise Jones of Shinnston and Nancy Golden and husband Larry of Shinnston. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers Earl Carder of New Jersey and Eugene Carder of Cleveland, 3 sisters Violet Patrick of Cleveland, Betty Jo McIntyre of Shinnston and Anna Lea Johnson of Shinnston. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews. She came from a large family and loved doing holidays together and family reunions. She loved watching her old westerns and reading ghost stories. The service will be at Harmer Funeral Home in Shinnston. The service will be for immediate family only. The Family would like to express their appreciation to some very special souls who have been watching over Virginia these past few months while she was in decline. It takes very special people to help a family through the process leading up to a death. Especially helpful were the nurses at Enemyes Hospice, the doctors & Staff at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, as well as the staff at Fairmont Health & Rehab.
