Lake Andes – Alexa Nadine Winckler, 37, passed away on November 11, 2021 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston, SD after a long battle with alcohol addiction. A private family service will be held on November 27, 2021 at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour, SD with burial following in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour. Alexa Nadine Winckler was born on February 28, 1984 in Armour, SD to Sally Winter and Ron Winckler. She attended Andes Central School in Lake Andes and later received her GED. Alexa worked numerous jobs but her heart was really in CNA work. She loved the residents she cared for and took their deaths very hard. Alexa enjoyed playing board games, video games, and was an avid reader. Her greatest love was her two boys and she was so very proud of them. Alexa is survived by her two sons, Nolan BlackCloud and Titus Raymond, mother, Sally, brothers, Justus (April) Winter, Aram Winckler, Jay (Mollie) Petrik, Grant (Amy) Petrik all of Lake Andes, and Graham (special friend, Hannah) Petrik of Belgrade, MT, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, Morris and Doris Winter and Robert and Lucille Winckler. Alexa was dearly loved and although she is no longer with us, she will remain in our hearts forever. Daughter, Mother, Sister Our hearts still ache in sadness and secret tears still flow, what it meant to lose you no one will ever know.
