<p>Mr. James Alfred Emerson, age 79, of Danville, VA, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at SOVAH Health Danville in Danville, VA.</p> <p>He was born on June 24, 1942, in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Henry Clay Emerson and Georgie Tuck Emerson.</p> <p>Before his retirement, Mr. Emerson worked as a laborer in the construction field.</p> <p>He is survived by his sisters: Willis Jennings, Elise Bennett, and Julie Hedrick.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, Mr. Emerson was predeceased by his siblings: Rugie, Spencer, and Eddie Lee Emerson and his sister, Mary Poindexter.</p> <p>Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Danville Memorial Gardens with Dr. Charles Scearce officiating.</p> <p>Barker Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Emerson family.</p> <p>Please feel free to sign the online condolences at www.swicegoodbarker.com</p>Obituary
