Roger Charles Ritter was born May 21, 1951 in Washington, MO to Bernard and Thelma (nee' McKinney) Ritter. He died Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO at the age of 70 years. Roger grew up in Union, MO and graduated from Union High School in 1969. After high school he began working for UPS in Union, MO and continued that career for 20 years. After retiring from UPS in 1989, Roger began his own automotive detailing business, which he continued to own and operate until just recently when his health no longer permitted. Roger was united in marriage to Cindy Kloppenberg on November 1, 2002 in Union, MO. The couple made their home in Union, MO. In his free time, Roger enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues games on television. He was a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 297. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Thelma Ritter; one brother, Mike Ritter; and one nephew, James Fields. He is survived by his wife his wife, Cindy Ritter; two daughters: Jennifer McClellan and husband Mike of Dallas, TX, and Christy Ritter of Warrenton, MO; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Nick Ritter and wife Nancy of Wildwood, MO; two sisters: Mary Crismon and husband Greg of Dogue, VA, and Suzanne Ritter of Ann Arbor, MI; one sister-in-law, Sue Ritter of Madison, IN; one brother-in-law, Tim Kloppenberg and wife Donna of Lake St. Louis, MO; parents-in-law, Sherwood and Katie Kloppenberg of Union, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sons of the American Legion or Franklin County Humane Society. The Ritter family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO.
