Bertha Ann Lensing
Bertha Ann Lensing, 91, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Cody, Wyoming. Bertha was a resident of Stanford, Montana the past ten years until a recent move to an assisted living home in Cody to be near granddaughters Mistie Rindal and Crystal Messier. Bertha was born January 9, 1930 in Strool, SD to Edward Lowell Lenerville and Theresa Hitchcox Lenerville. In 1946, Bertha married Leon V. Lensing in Lewistown, MT and they started their married life working for Leon’s brother, Bert Artz on the Ellis Ranch in Augusta, MT. Bertha enjoyed quilting and presented her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends with quilts she’d made. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Theresa Lenerville; husband, Leon Lensing; sons, Lowell Leon and Lonnie Joe; sister, Gladys Mattern; brothers, Willis, Roy, and Albert Lenerville. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Eldon) Church of Ridgefield, WA and son, Ron (Char) Lensing of Stanford, MT. She is also survived by a brother, Doyle (Tottie) Lenerville of Lemon, SD; sisters-in-law, Jean Lensing of Choteau, MT and Alvina Lenerville of Rapid City, SD; Grandchildren, Brian Lensing, Doug (Debbie) Messier, Crystal Messier (Jimmy Holt), Mistie (Anton) Rindal, Thad (Katie) Lensing, Josh (Lynn) Lensing, and Beau (Chris) Lensing; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held at the Choteau Cemetery in Choteau, MT on Saturday, November 13th at 11:00 AM. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home.
