Donna Marie Wright passed away peacefully on November 6, 2021 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Donna was born on January 19, 1963 in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Lucille and Lester Wright. Beloved wife of Stephen Murphy and devoted mother to LeAnna Murphy.

Donna graduated from Mercy College and began working at OGS and later worked for many years as a nurse. She was extremely skilled and devoted to the health of her patients in geriatrics.

In her free time, Donna loved to travel with her husband Stephen and daughter LeAnna. Whether it was visiting family in the United States, sightseeing in the U.K., or enjoying the sun in Jamaica at her family home, Donna loved to travel. Our family had plans to see the whole world, and she was passionate about seeing as much as she could. When Donna was not traveling, her time was spent with her daughter LeAnna. The two of them were two peas in a pod who shared a love for fashion and shopping. If you know Donna, you knew she loved to dance. Donna could often be found dancing to 90’s RnB, disco music or her favorite reggae playlist and would pull others into laughing and dancing with her. Donna was always happy, optimistic, and very, very loving to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Donna is survived by her loving husband Stephen Murphy, her beloved daughter LeAnna Murphy, her siblings Lester F. Wright and Kitty Smith (Norman), her sister-in-law’s Laura Smith (William) and Carolyn Zirpoli (Tony). Donna is also survived by her nieces and nephews Jamahl Wright, Jahne Wright Campbell, Jwan Smith, Arianne Smith, Jada Wright, Marcus Smith, Micah Wright, Bryson Wright, Christina Barnes (Lee), Elizabeth Savino (Ryan), Emily Barnes, Hunter Barnes, and Logan Savino.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Thursday November 11, 2021 at Danbury Memo- rial Funeral Home (117 South St. Danbury, CT) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a prayer service to begin at 12:30 p.m.
