Ruth E. Kinney, 87 of Pana passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Pana Community Hospital. She was born July 20, 1934 in Oconee, IL daughter of the late John & Pauline (Holthaus) Pollman. Ruth married Charles J. Kinney on April 21, 1956 in Oconee, IL and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2005. Ruth was a graduate of Pana High School and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana. She was a homemaker while raising her children. She then cleaned houses, painted, and laid wallpaper. Ruth loved going to wineries, gambling, bingo, and dancing, especially to polka. She genuinely cared about people and making them happy. Ruth could also be known to many as: “Aunt Boots”, “Granny”, & “Ruthie”. Ruth is survived by her children: Melinda (Gerald) Golden, Pana, IL; Kathy Lynch (Terry Damery), Pana, IL; daughter in law: Jacque Smart; grandchildren: Ryan (Sarah) Golden, Neil Golden, Andrew (Becky) Golden, David (Heather) Kinney, Megan Orange, Whitney (Matt) Lewis, & Kyle Lynch (Grayson Beyers); great grandchildren: Jaida Golden, Bennett Golden, Evan Orange, Asher Orange, Dallas Lewis, & Allie Payne; sister: Pauline Limper, Tulsa, OK & sister-in-law, Doris Pollman, Rosamond, IL. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her children: Robert Kinney & Patrick “Pat” Kinney & siblings: Mary Mills, Pete Pollman, Louise Arnold, Mike Pollman, & Norma Pollman in infancy. Funeral Mass for Ruth will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oconee. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Memorials in Ruth’s honor may be made to AAMP – Autism Awareness Movement Project or Sacred Heart School and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
