Ruby Nell Francis, age 88, of McLeod, Texas, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 6, 2021 in an Atlanta, Texas adult care facility. Ruby was born December 24, 1932, in Atlanta, Texas, to Leo and Helen Blue. She was retired from McLeod ISD after 28 years of service. She was a teacher’s aide and P.E. Teacher who it was said by many students that she loved her whistle. She was also very involved in her community and was a leader in the PTA. She was a member of Good Exchange Baptist Church; and enjoyed cooking, watching her children play sports, playing church softball and playing in the annual Teacher/Student Basketball game at McLeod. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Francis; son, James Michael Francis; brother, Howard Leo “Buddy” Blue; and her sisters, Gladys Marie Randolph, Iva Joyce Larsen, Ethel Lee “Sissie” Griffin; and her parents. She is survived by her sons, Marty Francis of McLeod, Texas, Mitch Francis and wife Becky of Atlanta, Texas; daughter, Mitzi Francis of Bloomburg, Texas; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Francis of Vivian, Louisiana; grandchildren, Lynn Francis, Terri Francis, Heather Peterson, Brian Francis, Melissa Ernest, Dallas Geis, Anthony Martinez, Michael Martinez; and a number of great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Kent Leonard and Bro. Chris Alexander officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service. Interment will be in Good Exchange Cemetery.
