Wilson C. Civitts, 100 years old, ‘Pap’ to many, passed away peacefully at his home Friday morning, Nov. 5, 2021.  Born July 17, 1921 in Milroy, he was a son of the late Clyde and Ruth (Pecht) Civitts.  He was preceded in death by: his wife Dorothy, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage; an infant daughter, Debbie; and two sisters, Jean Hann and Virginia Carothers.

  Surviving are: a son Dennis Lee Civitts and wife Catherine of New Oxford; a daughter, Diane Markle of Mifflintown and fiancé Rick Erb of Milton; grandsons, Todd Markle and fiancée Chris Wagner of Reedsville, Denny Keith Civitts of Milroy, Rodney Civitts and wife Annette of McClure; granddaughters, Kathy Dalby and husband Rodney of North Carolina, Teresa Lenig and husband Andy of Thompsontown; a sister, Phyllis Hassinger of Milroy; six great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

  Wilson was working on jet airplanes in Baltimore, Md. When he was drafted into the Army, during W.W. II.  He was a prisoner of war in Germany for 47 days.  He also worked and retired retired from J. M. Young & Sons, Belleville

  He and his wife, Dot, were members of the Midnight Riders Motorcycle Club.  Wilson bought his first Harley in the 1940’s and they rode for over 50 years to many different States.  He was a member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church, and the Milroy American Legion.

  A viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jean Ward officiating.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
