Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Crowley for Michiko “Mickey” Ura Stone, 88, who died peacefully surrounded by her family Friday morning, November 5, 2021 at her daughter’s home. Deacon Byrne Winn will celebrate the funeral services. Visitation may be observed Monday, November 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. The burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Mickey was born February 26, 1933 in Wakayama Japan to Sojen and Kioko Ura. She met her late husband, Charles Stone, service in the United States Navy. They first moved to her husband’s hometown Erie, PA, then settled in Crowley. Mickey was a graduate of Rice City Beauty College in 1973. She also received American citizenship in 1975. She loved sewing, crocheting, and making meals for her family. She is survived by her daughter Ethel Ann and her husband Adam Cormier; three grandchildren, Kristen and her husband Charles Hoffpauir, Joshua Cormier and Brandan Cormier; three great grandchildren, Ezra and Mehza Cormier and Eleanor Hoffpauir all of Richard, LA.
