Charles "Chuck" Haefner Obituary

Charles ‘Chuck’ Haefner Sr., 84, of Conover died October 30 of congestive heart failure. He was born January 15, 1937, in East Bristol, WI to John and Laura Haefner. He attended Deansville Elementary and graduated Marshall High in 1955. Chuck attended Barber College in Milwaukee. Apprenticeship and journeyman were served in Monona Grove. Chuck worked as a master barber and shop manager for 10 years in Madison. In 1965 he started with United Parcel Service serving Madison 9 years before transferring to Wausau working an additional 17 years. December 20, 1968 he married the love of his life, Linda Lou Haefner. Chuck retired to Conover in 1991. There Chuck and Linda formed lifelong friendships at Buckatabon Lodge. They wintered in Moorehaven, Florida making more friends at Canal Front Park. He is survived by sons: Charles Jr (Pammy) Wausau, Rick (Mika) Eagle River, Jeffrey (Amy) Commerce City, CO; brother: Eugene (Dixie) Marshall, WI; grandchildren: Krystal (Matt), Rachel (Derek), Andrew, Ethan; great grandchildren: Jordan, Anders, and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his wife: Linda; daughter: Lisa; parents: John and Laura; brothers: Orville, Ted, Leroy, Elmer, John. A graveside service followed by a celebration of life is tentatively planned for the summer of 2022 in Conover, Wisconsin.
