Ruth Ann (Carey) Greenlief, 72 of Steubenville, OH, formally Colliers, WV passed away at 7:23 pm on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Ruth was born on November 22, 1948 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of William “Bill” and Betty (Mitchell) Carey.

Ruth was a 1966 graduate of Follansbee High School. She was a member of Tent United Presbyterian Church, Colliers, WV and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV; and attended St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV. Ruth was a homemaker and worked at Heck’s Dept. Store in Follansbee, WV and Gillesple’s Market in Colliers, WV.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, S. Edwin (Ed) Greenlief.

Ruth is survived two children, Rachel Mounts and her husband, James of Steubenville, OH and Keith Greenlief and his wife, Cameo of Chester, WV; 13 grandchildren, Hunter Salkovick, Miranda Salkovick-Carroll, Alexandra Salkovick, James “Drew” Mounts, Hannah Mounts, Erika Mello, Nathaniel Hartley, Chase Hartley, Matthew Greenlief, Alexus Greenlief, Kyle Greenlief, Emri Greenlief, and Maddox Greenlief; and five great-grandchildren, Kynlee Mello, Jaxee Mello, Maren Carroll, Barrett Carroll, and Paisley DiPetrantonio, a sister, Barbara McConnell and her husband, Charles “Tim” of Beech Bottom, WV and nieces and nephews.

Private Entombment will be held at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens and a private wake for immediate family to be scheduled at a later date.

Special thanks to her caregivers from Valley Hospice-Michelle and Tiffany. Thank you for allowing her to travel this journey with grace.
