Robert Edward Spicer, Jr., 79, of Grand Bay, AL, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2021. He was born to the late Robert Edward Spicer, Sr. and Syble Eutaska Spicer in Pascagoula, MS, on January 4, 1942. Robert never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. His quick wit and ability to tell a good story were unmatched. He loved kids and even worked as a bus driver for Pascagoula School District. He carried around a pocket full of half dollars and handed them out regularly to bring smiles to children’s faces. Robert enjoyed fishing and shrimping with his sons, and his grandchildren were his whole world. He was a pastor for several decades at numerous churches and was honored as The Pastor Emeritus at The Cowboy Church of Grand Bay in August 2020. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Eutaska Tew. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Minnie Nell Spicer; sons, Robert “Robby” (Kim) Spicer, III, Thomas “Tommy” Spicer, and Timothy “Timmy” Spicer; grandchildren, Thomas Spicer, II, Robyn (Garrett) Butler, Matthew Spicer, Allyson (Ben Armitage) Spicer, Jonathan Spicer, Brandon Spicer, Zak Brown, Kelsi Neese, and Walter Neese; great-grandchildren, Sylvia Grace Butler and Sawyer Neese; brothers, Howard (Diane) Spicer and Jimmy (Claudette) Spicer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Kreole Avenue Baptist Church, 4124 Kreole Ave., Moss Point, MS 39563.
