Michael Buchbinder
May 13, 1943 – October 15, 2021

Michael was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Somerville, New Jersey. He graduated from South Carolina University with a BA in History and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He served in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade and Army Special Forces October 1965 to June 1969. He married Joan Hemmerling on July 12, 1969 and they lived in South Carolina for nine years. Michael and Joan moved to Fresno California where he worked as a Fresno Police Department Community Service Officer for 28 years. Since 2009, he spent his retirement years in Lincoln City, Oregon. He is survived by his wife, cousins, and their families.
