Jacob Komejan

Obituary of Jacob Komejan KOMEJAN: Jacob (August 17, 1918-February 19, 2010) We announce with great sadness that our father, grandfather and great grandfather Jacob has left this earth to be with his great love, Reina Komejan. Father of Helena Josiasse (Hans) of Ennismore, grandfather of Jean-Paul of Ennismore and Robert (Bonnie) of Calgary and great grandfather of Emma and Abigail. Brother of Jan Komejan (Tilly) and brother-in-law of Jo Komejan of the Netherlands. Predeceased by his sister Map and his brother Adrie. Flying was Jacob's passion. He joined the Dutch Navy in his earlier years and became one of their best test pilots. That part of his life shaped the man that we grew to love and admire. He overcame with sheer determination what seemed to many insurmountable obstacles and taught all of us to accept whatever life would bring us. His favourite quote was: "It does not matter what happens to you in life. It's what you do with it." The family would like to thank all of those at Empress Gardens that cared for Jacob during the last part of his life. We are so touched and thankful for their passionate care. A funeral service will be held at EMPRESS GARDENS, 131 Charlotte Street, Peterborough on Saturday, February 27th at 11 a.m. Visitation 1 hour prior. Father Andrew Begin officiating. Interment St. Martin's Cemetery, Ennismore. Friends are invited to the home of Helena and Hans Josiasse at 200 Clonakilty Line, Ennismore following the service. If desired, condolences to the family, directions to the service or donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 52 may be made at www.CommunityAlternative.ca or by calling COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME at 705-742-1875. "I am going to that place, that for so long, I wanted to see." To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jacob Komejan, please visit Tribute Store
