Christopher Wales Scott Obituary

Christopher Wales Scott was born on December 02, 1946 in Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA, and lived until October 26th, 2021, when he, who had been suffering from Parkinson's Disease, fell and hit his head, 

Chris was adopted by his loving parents Virginia (Ginny) and Kenneth Scott soon after birth. Christopher is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, soul mates, and best friend Linda O'Hara-Scott. Also survived by his younger brother, Dennis cot of Sacramento, CA, Father-in-law Martin J. O'Hara of Oakland CA, Sisters-in-law Diane O'Hara of Oakland, CA, and Cheryl O'Hara-Dittman of Fairfield, CA, Brother-in-Law Patrick O'Hara of Cool, CA and the late Thomas O'Hara, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and his Aunts and Uncles. Survived by loving cousins: Tom Miller of Sonora, Ca, Terry Miller of Dublin, CA, Georgia Brown of Hayward, CA, Sr. Patrica Passey of Santa Rosa, CA, Jean Davis of Bend, OR, and Bill Flink of Sacramento, CA, along with many great-nieces and nephews. 

Chris graduated from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, CA; then went to U.C. Santa Barbara where he majored in Geography and graduated. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and worked as a weather technician in Upper Heyford, England. After serving in England, he came back to the states to be with his father who was dying. He was hired by Bay Cities Ambulance Co. in Oakland as an ambulance driver and it was there that he met and fell in love with Linda, an ambulance dispatcher. Before their marriage in 1974, he worked as a Venereal Disease Investigator in San Francisco, and Sacramento. At this point, he returned to the career he established in the Air Force, as a weatherman. He worked in weather and moved to San Jose, where he worked out of Los Altos, CA. He then transferred several times and worked out of Sant Rosa, CA  ( where he lived in Occidental, CA,) Cheyenne, WY, and Minneapolis, MN, and finally, he came to Eureka, CA to work at the National Weather Service on Woodley Island. He retired in June 2007. 

Chris loved the outdoors and camping, which he did while traveling across the entire US. Chris was an avid bridge player, a voracious reader, and a lover of learning. Chris loved life and was involved with it on many levels, from watching a beautiful sunset to listening to Celtic music at an Irish pub. Chris was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Eureka. 

Two serviced will be held for Chirs. 

A rosary will be held for him at Sanders Funeral Home in Eureka on Friday the 29th of October from 3:00-4:00 p.m on Friday. 

A funeral Mass will be said for Chris at Sacred Heart Church on Myrtle Avenue in Eureka on Monday, the 1st of November at 1:00 p.m. 

From here, Chris will be taken down to Oakland, CA for a rosary and a Mass the week of the 15th of October. Details will follow.
