Larry Clarke Burruss passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the age of 80.
Born in Lynchburg on November 26, 1940, he was a son of the late John Carrington Burruss and Mae Sublette Burruss. He was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School and Lynchburg College; retired from the Virginia State Probation and Parole system and also from the Virginia National Guard. He was a 50-year member of Marshall Lodge #39; a charter member of Thomas J. Traylor Daylight Lodge; an emeritus member of DeMolay International and a member of Elks Lodge 321.
He is survived by a sister, Nashella Burruss Buckley; nephews, Drew Harlan Buckley and wife, Mary, William Carrington “Cary” Buckley and his daughter, Dylan.
A graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, 427 Graves Mill Road.
