Joshua Leeland Colvin Obituary

~ The most awesome, extraordinary intelligent, a HERO of human being, best son, best brother, best friend, best joker, best individual to lift spirits and brighten up anywhere he was, one of the hardest workers known to man, a true life saver, and one of best Firefighters to have ever walked and was an earth angel in this realm of existence ~

Former Deputy Chief of Training, Joshua Leeland Colvin, age 40, of Madison Indiana was born on July 21, 1981, the son of Arlie L. Colvin and Ruby L. Colvin. He was unit number 1174 of Bristol Bay Borough Fire & Emergency Services Department in Bristol Bay Borough, Alaska and a Former Fire Captain at the Sellersburg Fire Department in Sellersburg, Indiana. In the mid 2000's, he was selected as The Firefighter of the Year in Sellersburg, Indiana due to his unique hard working and dedicated mindset, always having such a positive attitude, being a true saver of lives, having such a humble spirit and the biggest heart of character. His brother and his parents are super proud of him and miss him more than words can describe. Mr. Colvin passed away too young on the 25th of October, 2021 from COVID complications in his sleep. His family and many others who he was their hero, will miss him on this earth and will one day see and be with him again in the heavenly realm, where he is no longer suffering or in pain.

He is survived by his proud and loving father, Arlie L Colvin; his proud and loving mother, Ruby L Colvin; his proud and loving older brother and who always told everyone of his former Fire Chief, Arlie L Colvin II who is missing his true best brother, best friend and earth angel; and all of his non-blood family of fellow Fire and Emergency Services, earthly angels and old hard working Truckers.

He is laid to rest through a private family service per his own personal request. He will be remembered for his gift of life and not of his passing.

The family request memorial contributions be made to the Joshua Colvin Memorial Fund. Contributions can be given at Lytle Welty Funeral Home or online at www.lytlewelty.com.
