<div>Allen W. &quot;Sprout&quot; Schillie, 65, of Danville, died at 7:15 AM Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Born March 13, 1956, in Kirksville, MO, he was the son of Hurley &quot;Sparky&quot; and Lula Harrison Schillie. On July 27, 1985, he married Connie Jo Downs in Danville, IA.&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Allen was the city supervisor for the city of Danville for over 40 years.He was the Assistant Chief from 2016 to present, a Captain for 20 years with over 40 years of service to the Danville Fire Department. He was a very active fire fighter having spent a tremendous amount of time on calls and training.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>He enjoyed spending time with his kids, and grandkids, coin collecting, series book collecting, detailing his truck every Sunday, and watching NASCAR races. A devoted husband, father, firefighter and city employee.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Survivors include his wife, Connie Jo Schillie; three sons, Jason (Danielle) Fisher of Danville, Joseph (Jenny Welcher) Schillie of Danville, Joshua (Stephane) Schillie of Des Moines; one daughter, Amanda Schillie of Danville; seven grandchildren, Chloe Fisher, Brody Fisher, Addisynn &quot;Adders&quot; Schillie, Arianiah &quot;Aunster&quot; Peterson, Conner &quot;Deaner&quot; Schillie, Jace &quot;Rufus&quot; Reynolds, Makayla &quot;Sweet Pea&quot; Reynolds; mother, Lula Schillie of Danville; two brothers, Bob (Delaine) Schillie of Waverly, IA and Les&nbsp; Schillie of Danville; and one sister, Angie McCannon of Burlington.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>He was preceded&nbsp;in death by his father and an infant brother, Brian Schillie.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Family will receive friends Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the Danville Fire Station.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>The funeral service for Allen will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Danville Fire Station with Reverend Jack Edmisson officiating.&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Due to limited parking, there will be a shuttle available Saturday October 30, 2021 from the ball fields behind the Danville school, starting at 9:00 AM to drop off at the service. Service begins at the Danville Fire Department at 10:00 AM. Shuttle will return people to their cars following the service. Contact City Hall with any questions regarding the shuttle service.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery.&nbsp; A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Danville Fire Station following the burial.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>A memorial has been established for the Danville Fire Department.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Prugh Funeral Service is in care of the arrangements.</div>

Allen W. "Sprout" Schillie, 65, of Danville, died at 7:15 AM Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
 
Born March 13, 1956, in Kirksville, MO, he was the son of Hurley "Sparky" and Lula Harrison Schillie. On July 27, 1985, he married Connie Jo Downs in Danville, IA. 
 
Allen was the city supervisor for the city of Danville for over 40 years.He was the Assistant Chief from 2016 to present, a Captain for 20 years with over 40 years of service to the Danville Fire Department. He was a very active fire fighter having spent a tremendous amount of time on calls and training.
 
He enjoyed spending time with his kids, and grandkids, coin collecting, series book collecting, detailing his truck every Sunday, and watching NASCAR races. A devoted husband, father, firefighter and city employee.

Family will receive friends Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the Danville Fire Station.
 
The funeral service for Allen will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Danville Fire Station with Reverend Jack Edmisson officiating. 
 
Due to limited parking, there will be a shuttle available Saturday October 30, 2021 from the ball fields behind the Danville school, starting at 9:00 AM to drop off at the service. Service begins at the Danville Fire Department at 10:00 AM. Shuttle will return people to their cars following the service. Contact City Hall with any questions regarding the shuttle service.
 
Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery.  A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Danville Fire Station following the burial.
 
A memorial has been established for the Danville Fire Department.
