Rita Stansberry Forestiere

Rita Irwin Stansberry Forestiere, age 88, of Pass Christian, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in Diamondhead.

Rita received her GED for high school and went to Delgado Community College.  She taught at Jerome’s Beauty College for many years.  She worked in collections and retired from there.  She was also owner of Coastal Carts in Gulfport.  Rita loved playing golf and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Joseph Stansberry, Jr.; her second husband, Anthony Forestiere; mother, Myrtle Muntz Weaver Irwin; father, August S. Irwin; son, John Joseph Stansberry, III; siblings, August S. Irwin, Jr., John Henry Weaver; grandchild, James Stansberry; and daughter in law, Terry Stansberry.

Rita is survived by her children, Irwin August Stansberry, and Mikki Stansberry Cuevas (Timothy); grandchildren, Megan Stansberry, Carli Cuevas, Carter Cuevas, and Carson Cuevas.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and caregivers at Woodland Village.  They also would like to thank the Kindred Hospice nurses, Chaplin, and Social Workers.

The visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 10:30am until 12:30pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian, with the funeral service beginning 12:30am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
