Victoria Florez

Victoria Florez, 55, of La Junta, Colorado went to be with the lord on October 24, 2021 peacefully at her La Junta home. She was born on November 23, 1965 in La Junta to Louie and Eleanor Peteque. Victoria worked as a custodian at Otero Junior College for 13 years and worked many years as a cook at La Junta Middle school and High school. She loved her place of work and co-workers. On her spare time she loved to spend her quality time with her grandbabies and family. Anyone that knew her knows what a selfless, loving, generous and big hearted of a person she was. She was notorious for cooking her delicious Mexican food. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her children: Bernadette (Marc) Madrid of La Junta, Kimberly (Eric) Garcia of La Junta, Shanna (Paul) Salazar of La Junta, Jimmy (Dayna) Florez of Denver, Shelly (Devin) Martinez of Denver, Roger Florez Jr. of Denver, and Nancy (Albert) Rivera of Pueblo. Grandkids, Gabriel Aragon, Jacob and Derick Madrid, Devontae Florez, Mikayela Esquibel, Matthew and Caitlin Licano, Breanna and Nika Gonzales, Devon and Dylan Florez, Holly and Jesse Hernandez and Alyssa Rivera. Siblings, Robert (Christa) Peteque, Katie (Socorro) Morales, Liz (Victor) Gomez, and Terri Peteque (Scooby Altamirano). She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Florez Sr., parents, Louie and Eleanor Peteque, brother, Lee Peteque, brother and sister in-law, Joe and Mary Martinez. Visitations will be Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, October 29, 2021 at 10:00 am at First Assembly of God, 2105 Adams Avenue, La Junta. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery.
