Alexandria C. Moller Brooklyn, New York Obituary

Alexandria C. Moller

Alexandria “Alexis” Connie Moller, 77, of Park Slope Brooklyn, NY, went home on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She is survived by her partner of 27 years, Kevin Mannion, her daughter Jennifer Heckler, son Paul Heckler and daughter-in-law Melissa Kelly, and her grandchildren Jason and Justin Young. Alexis was born to Alexander and Margaret Cannon in Brooklyn, NY. She was the beloved sister to Bob and Tom Cannon, faithful cousin to Joseph “Uncle Joe” Boyle, and life-long best friend of Rosalie Schoeller, Eileen Winslow, Cecilia Markle and Mary Thompson. Alexis was also a loving mom to her rescue kitty Maggie Mae. She lived in and loved Brooklyn, and seemed to know everyone in it, her whole life. Alexis worked at the information desk at the Methodist Hospital for over 20 years, where anyone who met her would remember her warmth and tenderness in what may have been their most trying time. Everyone who knew her knew that she was a very big personality in a very tiny frame. Alexis loved her neighborhood. She loved birds and had her own loyal flock. Alexis loved to talk, just like her birds. She loved her home, and everyone who walked by it on 8th Street could see and feel that love in the form of a thousand and one garden gnomes in the front yard. A person didn’t even have to know Alexis for her to make them smile. Her grumpy children will tell you that she was always happy, always excited for a new day, and if someone forgot what holiday may be approaching, her wonderful garden and all its decorations would remind them. If one was lucky enough, they might be strolling by while she was in the midst of decorating. Wearing her robe and clogs, she would’ve inevitably drummed up a conversation, and just like that Alexis would have yet another friend. She left this world so much brighter than she found it, and no words can express how much she will be missed. Details for her interment ceremony at Greenwood cemetery and a memorial celebration/party will be announced in the upcoming days and weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Brooklyn, NY https://www.nyanimalrescue.org/ .
