Linda (Pucci) Cantlin Obituary

Linda (Pucci) Cantlin, 97, formerly of rural Earlville, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Pleasant View. A prayer service will take place at 12 noon on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Father Gary C. Caster, officiating. Private burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required. Ermelinda “Linda” was born on February 7, 1924 in Highland Park, to Lodovico and Celestina (Cantelli) Pucci. She was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School, class of 1943. Linda married Emmett Cantlin on February 23, 1946 at St. Mary’s Church in Utica. She worked for Luminous Processes, where she painted clock hands before becoming a full time mother. She was also an election judge in Harding and Freedom Township. She was a member of St. Theresa Church in Earlville and the Catholic Daughters of America. She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Karl Burgener) Lane of West Chicago and Judith (Tim Ho) Cantlin of Boston, MA; a daughter-in-law Barb Cantlin; three grandchildren; Rob Doughty, Kim Knap and Jodi (Dustin) McDermith; and five great grandchildren, Taylor Jo McDermith, Ava Knap, Owen Knap, Mason McDermith, and Addison McDermith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett, on April 19, 2011; her brother Frank Pucci; her son, Emmett Wayne; and a grandson John Wayne Cantlin.
