Richard "Rich" Henry Kimpe

Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the remembrance center, and will continue one hour prior to the service. Richard “Rich” Henry Kimpe was born January 25, 1947, in Marshall, to Raymond and Margaret (Hamerlinck) Kimpe. Rich grew up in Minneota. He graduated from Minneota High School and attended Canby Vo-tech. Rich farmed north of Minneota until the late 1980s, when he moved into Minneota. He worked for MGT after farming, as well as continuing to help other farmers after retirement. Rich enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. In his free time, Rich enjoyed fishing and ice fishing, and he recently started four wheeling. Rich died on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. He is survived by his children Ron (Bobbi Jo) Kimpe of Marshall, Nick Esping of Minneota, Kristi (Jeramie) Bryant of Brookings, SD, and Kayla Kimpe of Tyler; daughter-in-law Sheila Wersinger of Taunton; grandchildren Codi, Milo, Wyatt, Brittany, Hailey, Landon, Logan, Gabrielle, Peyton, Kendyle, and Jaydin; siblings Denny (Sue) Kimpe of Brookings, SD, Dave (Jean) Kimpe of Minneota, Judy (Bill) Beck of Clear Lake, Sue (Bob) Schultz of Marshall, Pat Markins of Beech Grove, IN, John (Jane) Kimpe of Minneota, and Butch (Judy) Kimpe of Marshall; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Margaret and son Greg Kimpe.
