Dolores L. Talbot

GLOUCESTER - Dolores Lorraine “Teddy” (Provost) Talbot, 95, of Gloucester, formerly of Salem and Beverly, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, October 17, 2021 at Seacoast Nursing Home in Gloucester. She was predeceased by her husband Edmond H. “Ted” Talbot in April of 2003. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Lydia L. (Normand) Provost. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Salem, going on to serve at Salem Hospital as a member of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. Dolores (Teddy) owned the Anchorage Inn in Gloucester for many years and co-owned Foreign Affairs shop in Ipswich, occupations which suited her so well as she felt like a friend to all she met. She enjoyed a myriad of hobbies over the years including gardening, woodworking, painting, and fashioning washcloths in her less active years which she donated to local shelters. Dolores took a daily morning swim at the local pool with many of her dear friends for decades. She loved her bible study group and her many friends at the Senior Center. She enjoyed the beach and travel and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her later years she was thrilled to enjoy visits with several great-grandchildren. Surviving her are two daughters, Janet Tannebring and her husband Jeffrey of Wenham and Anne Gustaferro and her husband Jay of Gloucester; three sons, Edmond H. Talbot Jr. of Gloucester, Marc A. Talbot of Beverly and James P. Talbot and his wife Denise of Hampstead, NC, eight grandchildren: Rachel, Rebecca, Tara, Holly, Jillian, Jane, Maria and Grace; six great grandchildren: Annika, Phoebe, Avery, Ari, Sierra, and Wyatt, and one brother: Louis Provost of Essex, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by a brother, Alfred J. Provost Jr. Her graveside service will be held at Seaside Cemetery, Gloucester on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 1:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolores’ name may be made to Friends of Seacoast ? Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation, 292 Washington St., Gloucester.
