She was a Leech Lake Ojibwe Tribal Band member and a Robinson Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians descendant.  Nevaeh was raised in Ball Club, MN by her Grannie Anne, and aunties Michelle and Mardelle; she attended the Deer River Elementary and Cass Lake High Schools.  Nevaeh worked at the Cedar Lakes Casino as a Guest Room Attendant for a short time and loved to travel across the United States with her friends.  Like a shooting star that lights up the night sky, Nevaeh could make anyone smile or laugh and was the sweetest person you could ever meet.  She was always happy, dancing and singing.  Nevaeh genuinely cared for and was kind to everyone, which is why she made friends easily and had friends everywhere she went.  One thing she was known for was always saying “I Love You” before she would leave.  Nevaeh’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Lisa Peake; sisters, Cherice Williams, Charissa and Le Ann Oothoudt; and brothers, Cory, Joseph, Chauncey and Jamie Oothoudt, Doug and Gerald Butcher, Mish and Winter Cloud and Jeremy Beaulieu; paternal grandparents Anna Sheffield and Clayton (Constance) Oothoudt, Jr.; paternal aunts and uncles Michelle Oothoudt, Mardelle (Sam) Reese, Colleen (Harley) Graves, George (Berta) Pemberton and Jennifer Johnson; maternal aunts and uncles James (Rose) Crandell, Sueanne (Doug) Duncan, Evelyn Crandell, Gwenlyn (Mario) Alverado, Kyle (Jackie) Crandell, Julie (Scott) Wheadon, Joyce (Donovan) Peake and Jolene Peake-Crawford; step-mother Juanita Oothoudt; many other relatives and too many friends to list.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Oothoudt III; brother, Clayton IV; grandparents, Evelyn and Joseph Peake; and uncle Myron Gorbet.

She made her journey home to Minnesota from California to say final goodbyes with family and friends at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23rd at the Onigum Community Center in Onigum, MN.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 24th with Rudy Escamilla officiating.  Helping to lay Nevaeh to rest will be Randan Reese, Nichalos Reese, Joshua Deegan, Beau Agard, Isaiah Nordmarken and Darrell “Deano” Jackson, Jr.  Her honorary pallbearers are Rhiannon Reese, Reign Guenthner, Alisa Thompson, Joanna Gotchie, Autumn Holthusen, Mya Jackson, Brianna Matrious, Taran Howard, Deziraye Wright and all her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She will be laid to rest in the Old Agency Catholic Cemetery at Onigum, MN.
