BELL, Ruth (nee Anderson)

December 14, 1930 – October 20, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth on Wednesday October 20, 2021. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who leaves us with warm memories of family celebrations, holidays and get togethers that she made so very special. Ruth is survived by Bob, her husband of 71 years and son, Greg. Also survived by her sister Leone Allen and family members Mark, Mary, James and John Anderson, Tara Anderson (Rob), Tyler Johnston, Jeanette Anderson, Rheece, Michelle, Triston and Trae Hart and John and Lisa Bell. She is predeceased by her parents Jim and Jean Anderson, brother Brian and brother-in-law Doug Allen. Ruth was a long-time member of the Knox Presbyterian Church Choir, Twenty Valley Golf Club and The Hotel Dieu Shaver auxiliary from 1968 to present. An avid sports fan she never missed watching the Blue Jays, Raptors and Leafs. Ruth enjoyed vacations with Bob at their Golf Villa in Florida and summer trips to Torpitt Lodge where they engaged in Hi-jinks and frivolity with friends from across the U.S.A. and Canada. Special thanks to the medical and nursing staff at Hotel Dieu Shaver and St. Catharines General and personal support workers who treated Ruth with care and compassion in the face of challenging medical issues.

In honouring Ruth’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Hotel Dieu Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Her’s was a life well lived.
