Obituary

My sweet husband of 54 years passed away on October 19th, 2021. He is the son of Marian and Jack Gardner, born on his father’s birthday-December 16th, 1947. Brother to Marianne (Brad) Turpin, Brother-in-law to George (Debbie) Norris, Marilyn (Dick) Monsen, and Ida (Bob) Dea. Father to Zach (Ambra) Gardner, Mike (Britta) Gardner, and Nate Gardner. Grandfather to Boston, Jazmin, Jerzey, Stella, and Vivian Gardner. Husband to Susann Norris Gardner. Proceeded in death by Jack and Marian Gardner and Bob and Helen Norris. We have had a wonderful life together raising our sons and seeing them turn into remarkable men.

Greg graduated from Cypress High School in 1966. He excelled in both academics and sports, and loved competition. He is a tough old Cypress Pirate that fought hard to stay with his family. Greg's formal education was at the University of Utah, where he earned a Bachelor's in Business/Accounting. This led him to be employed by Baker Hughes Inc for 29 years. He traveled all over the world training people and implementing SAP. He had a great colleague and buddy, Harish Parmar. Together they solved many problems at Baker Hughes.

When Greg retired, he was a fun-loving Grandpa, helping tend all the grandchildren when they were little. He always stayed busy playing golf, tennis, fishing, hunting, and riding bikes with his friends and family. We always had a beautiful garden and yard. It was labor of love for us both to enjoy together.

Being a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many callings. His favorite calling was as a Second Counselor in the Union Fourth Ward Bishopric. He really loved this calling and the ward family meant so much to him. Serving others and his Heavenly Father was a source of great enjoyment for him. Greg loved all people and was a loving and forgiving man.
