Patty Gooch, age 86, of Excelsior Springs, formerly of Purdin, passed away, Monday, October 18, 2021, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Steve Long officiating.  Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.

Patty, daughter of Ola and Reba (Meyers) Belcher, was born June 9, 1935, in Meadville. On March 23, 1953, she married Rolan Gooch who preceded her in death on December 4, 1996.

Patty served on the board of directors for the Linn County Health Department and  was a member of the True Blue Club and the Democrat Women’s Committee.  She also served on multiple democratic campaigns.

Pat worked voting polls and was a census worker for many years. She was a former owner of the License Bureau in Brookfield and very involved in her community. 

Survivors include two sons, Rolan (JR) Gooch and wife, Melissa of Excelsior Springs and Robert Gooch of Independence; two grandsons, Ronald “Dean” Gooch and wife, Teresa and David Gooch; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Stark and Riley Gooch.

Her parents; one child, Ronald Dean Gooch; and three siblings, June Coble, Claude Belcher and Rosemary Isley also preceded her in death.
